The Project

LIFE23-CCM-PL-LIFeHDV
is an initiative aimed at creating a pilot program to support the development of charging infrastructure for electric heavy-duty vehicles (eHDVs) in Central and Eastern Europe

The project responds to the challenges associated with the transition to zero-emission road transport, while also forming part of the EU LIFE program in the area of climate change mitigation

As part of the project, a network of pilot charging hubs will be developed to enable the testing and implementation of best practices related to the siting, construction, and operation of charging stations dedicated to electric heavy-duty transport

As part of the project activities, 11 charging stations will be launched within five pilot hubs

The main activities also include assessing locations in terms of their e-mobility development potential, developing technical specifications for the hubs, and testing innovative charging technologies – including V2G solutions, inductive charging, and integration with energy storage systems

In parallel, educational, promotional, and lobbying activities will be carried out to increase the visibility of the project and its outcomes at the national and regional levels

Results

The project is coordinated by the Polish New Mobility Association (PSNM). Project partners also include Ennovation Technology and GreenWay Polska

The project will run for 42 months – September 2024 until the end of February 2028 – and has a total budget of over EUR 5.6 million, more than EUR 3.4 million of which is co-financed by EU funds. As a result of the project activities, guidelines and business models will be developed to enable the replication of the solutions on a larger scale across Central and Eastern Europe
