eHDV Forum Powered by LIFeHDV

The New Mobility Congress (KNM) is the largest event in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to the transformation of transport and energy systems towards zero-emission mobility. During the upcoming edition of the Congress, the decarbonisation of heavy-duty road transport will be one of the key thematic areas, highlighted through the dedicated eHDV Forum Powered by LIFeHDV.

Each year, the New Mobility Congress brings together representatives of industry, public administration, the energy sector, financial institutions and international organisations. The programme includes hundreds of debates, keynote speeches and workshops addressing the most important challenges related to the transformation of transport, energy and the broader economy.

In this context, the heavy-duty transport sector is gaining increasing attention as one of the areas where technological and regulatory change will play a crucial role in achieving climate goals and building a sustainable logistics system in Europe.

LIFeHDV at the New Mobility Congress

A central element of this year’s programme will be the eHDV Forum Powered by LIFeHDV, a dedicated thematic track focusing on the electrification of heavy-duty transport and the development of charging infrastructure for electric trucks.

The programme of the forum will include:

  • 5 panel discussions
  • 3 keynote speeches
  • 1 expert workshop

The sessions will focus on the key barriers and opportunities for accelerating the transition of the heavy-duty transport sector, with a particular emphasis on the deployment of high-power charging infrastructure for electric heavy-duty vehicles (eHDV). Limited availability of charging infrastructure is widely recognised by market stakeholders as one of the most significant challenges for the development of zero-emission road freight transport. The discussions will address topics such as:

  • scaling high-power charging infrastructure for heavy-duty vehicles,
  • integration of charging hubs with the power system,
  • business models for eHDV charging hubs,
  • development of zero-emission freight corridors,
  • the role of European and national regulations in accelerating fleet electrification.

Key stakeholders of the eHDV ecosystem

The eHDV Forum Powered by LIFeHDV will bring together leading organisations and companies involved in the development of zero-emission freight transport. Confirmed participants include representatives of:

  • Vehicle manufacturers (Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks),
  • Charging infrastructure operators and technology providers (Milence, GreenWay, Alpitronic, TRATON Charging Solutions),
  • Logistics operators and fleet users (Amazon, InPost, No Limit, DKV Mobility, Eurowag),
  • Industry organisations, research and advocacy (ICCT, Smart Freight Centre, E-Mobility Europe, CEET, Clastart, ZMPD (Association of International Road Carriers in Poland)).

The presence of such a broad range of stakeholders will enable discussions covering the entire value chain of the heavy-duty transport sector – from vehicle manufacturers and infrastructure operators to logistics companies and international industry organisations.

Regulatory and energy perspectives

Another important part of the programme will focus on regulatory and energy-system aspects that are critical for the development of charging infrastructure for heavy-duty transport.

Discussions in this area will involve representatives of public institutions and regulatory bodies, including:

  • the Energy Regulatory Office (URE)
  • the Ministry of Energy
  • the Ministry of Climate and Environment
  • PTPiREE (Polish Association of Transmission and Distribution of Electricity)
  • GDDKiA (General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways)

These sessions will address topics such as grid connection processes, integration of high-power charging infrastructure with the electricity system, and the role of European frameworks such as AFIR and the TEN-T network in supporting the development of charging infrastructure for heavy-duty vehicles.

LIFeHDV as a platform for market dialogue

The eHDV Forum Powered by LIFeHDV represents an important element of the activities carried out within the LIFeHDV project, which aims to accelerate the development of charging infrastructure for heavy-duty electric vehicles and to support cooperation among key market stakeholders.

By bringing together representatives of industry, logistics operators, policymakers and energy sector stakeholders, the forum will provide a platform for dialogue on the future of zero-emission freight transport and the practical steps required to scale the deployment of eHDV infrastructure in Poland and across Europe.
